Sooner than you think...

Wow! That last Tea Party was a real journey to a place of enchantment! Mary Poppins gave us all a spoon full of sugar, Ozma amazed us with stories, Madame Trelawney mesmerized us with her predictions, the Fairy Godmother blessed us with pixie dust, and Alice and the Mad Hatter were entertaining hosts!

The convention is just around the corner, and now is the best time to get registered, before the next price increase. We will be closing registration before the convention, so don't wait until the last minute!

Our programming director is working on some really interesting workshops, panels, discussion groups, and lecture/demos. Our guests have been very generous with their time and talents, so be prepared for a schedule chock-full of wonderful programming!

We will be able to make some announcements soon about the convention doll, the limited edition convention SD head, and many other great opportunities at our second St. Louis BJD Convention!

On Saturday, March 16th, at 2pm, we will be hosting a tea party as a fundraiser for the convention!

If you're in town that weekend, we'd love to see you!

Please join us and bring your doll and non-doll friends! Each of our tables will be decorated to various themes and hosted by a different member of our committee. While we enjoy tea and a marvelous buffet, there will be a special guest to speak about tea customs through the years. Our Dollar Table Sale will raise funds for the OBC food pantry, and our amazing raffle will raise funds for the St. Louis BJD Convention.

For more information, Click Here to go to the Tea Party page!

KawaKon is a local Anime-and-more convention that has been showcasing awesome BJD programming for the past several years. Some of our amazing committee members met at this fun event in years past, and we wanted to add to the fun this year.
It's a PJ BJD Party! On Friday night at the convention (and yes, you can buy a one-day badge) the St. Louis BJD Convention is hosting a PJ party for you and your dolls! Bring your dolls in their Jammies, and wear your own favorite sleepwear. We are going to have party snacks for humans to eat and a dolly-food making area where you can use polymer clay to create snack foods for your BJDs. There will be ghost stories, "old-school" cartoons to watch, and lots of fun opportunities to meet other dolls and their people.

Raffle Mania! We will also have a raffle going on in the dealer's room. Our Chairman, Jenny, will be there all weekend so feel free to swing by and say hello. Don't forget to buy some raffle tickets while you're at it!

A Full Track of BJD Programming! Our Assistant Chairman, Tricia, has put together a very full track of BJD-oriented programming called "Doll Festival" or Hinamatsuri. We will be having hands-on workshops, discussion groups, and a Project Cosplay open workshop for both dolls and humans. We will be sculpting dolls out of paper clay, creating custom eyes, crafting wigs out of specialty yarn, and many more fun activities.

Please come out and join us at Kawa Kon and bring your dolls!

The last of the Spark the Wyvern dolls have arrived! We are having a little dolly Little Christmas get together at OBC tonight to distribute them. We will meet up at 7pm and the party will likely go until 10pm or so.
Anyone who came to the convention is welcome to come to our little gathering. It is pot luck and there might even be some presents!
We will also have a small sales table in case anyone has holiday cash they want to spend.
There will be a face-up area as well, with some spray sealant, pastels, watercolor pencils, kneaded erasers, paint brushes, acrylics and more. We thought that perhaps some people might want to add details to their little Spark dolls, but feel free to get in some "face time" with another doll if you like.

And now, a little bit of Holiday Cheer to share during the last few days of Christmas. This photo was taken at the Galleria and Santa was very gracious. So as we approach 12th night, may everyone have a merry "Little Christmas" and a Happy New Year!

We've done some updating all over the website! Feel free to cruise around and look for all our new changes. One thing we wanted to mention in particular is our updated Contests page here: http://www.stlbjdcon.com/contests.html

We would love to see everyone participate in our doll display contests. The categories are:

"My Favorite Doll; the reason I love BJDS" There are five sub-categories for this part of the contest, each according to size. Any doll that you love is welcome in our display contest.

There are also two specialty categories, open to dolls of any size:

"Handkerchief Costume/Outfit" This category is open to any doll dressed in an original outfit made from one or more handkerchiefs or bandannas. The outfit does not need to be made exclusively from handkerchiefs or bandannas, but should incorporate at least one as part of its construction.

"Sock Costume/Outfit"
Show off your best Sock Dress! Display your most original sock-hoodie! This category is open to any doll dressed in an original outfit created using person-sized socks. Children's socks or adult socks may be used. The outfit does not need to be made exclusively from socks, but should incorporate at least one sock as part of its construction.

Registration for these contests will be at the con. Bring your entries with you and fill out your contest entry form at the convention. All questions about the contests should be directed to Cathy Swope at contests@stlbjdcon.com
