Silverbeam's Magic has created this impressive BJD as a Convention Edition!
Meet Impling, a sneaky little guy created with double-joints and a tummy joint for maximum mobility!
He stands just 17cm tall, which is the largest doll Silverbeam has created. This doll was created with 3D printing technology, which she has graciously offered to demonstrate at our convention.
Order yours now through her Facebook or DeviantArt pages:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Silverbeams-Magic-Original-BJD-3d-printing-and-geekery/136576986383932

If you're not able to attend the convention, you can still order the doll. The convention attendees will receive the first dolls, though.

These dolls need time to be created and strung, so please place your order as soon as possible so that you can pick up your Impling at the convention!
Basic doll runs $80, but she offers them with blushing, a wig, or an outfit for a small extra fee.

You may have seen her amazing creations on Etsy or DeviantART. Maybe you've heard rumors of her ball-jointed ponies (the kind with magical friendships.) Perhaps you are pining for one of her Octo-ling boys, but can't decide whether to buy the one with the magnetic tentacles or the one with the ball-jointed tentacles!
Silverbeam is the name of a fantastic new BJD artist who creates her dolls using 3D printing. She creates many amazingly detailed accessories for BJDs as well using this technology.

We are very proud to showcase Silverbeam as our newest Guest of Honor at our 2013 Convention!

Stay tuned for more information about this artist and our official convention doll...

On Saturday, March 16th, at 2pm, we will be hosting a tea party as a fundraiser for the convention!

If you're in town that weekend, we'd love to see you!

Please join us and bring your doll and non-doll friends! Each of our tables will be decorated to various themes and hosted by a different member of our committee. While we enjoy tea and a marvelous buffet, there will be a special guest to speak about tea customs through the years. Our Dollar Table Sale will raise funds for the OBC food pantry, and our amazing raffle will raise funds for the St. Louis BJD Convention.

For more information, Click Here to go to the Tea Party page!

Good news and bad news

As is traditional, here's the Bad News first: Paulette Goodreau has a family emergency and cannot attend our convention this year. Her mother is undergoing surgery and she needs to stay close. We have let her know that we understand, and have invited her to come next year instead. She has promised to do so.

Good News: Paulette feels terrible about backing out at the last minute, and by way of apology she is sending a doll for each convention member! I don't want to spoil the surprise, but I will say that it is a hard-to-find 5" critter! Connie Lowe is going to bring them along and has offered to take over some of Paulette's programming.

What does this mean to our convention? We may have some last-minute changes to our programming schedule, but we are still planning to have the Goodreau Family Reunion, so please be sure to bring any Goodreau dolls you might have as part of your Doll Family for the photo shoot. We will send our best pictures to Paulette to enjoy. We are also going to see if we can use the magic of technology to include Paulette at some point remotely. More on this as it develops.

Have you ordered your Convention Doll yet?

Sarah Seiter has agreed to allow convention members to order more than one convention doll.

*GASP!* That means... you could order one in each color! You could order a pair of twins in a single color!

If you are registered for the convention and haven't pre-ordered even a single doll yet, we want to remind you that the pre-order deadline is October 31st, so you might want to make sure you have ordered your preferred color before Halloween.

Here are the links to the dolls on The Mushroom Peddler's Etsy site:

Our convention doll is absolutely adorable! It is a convention exclusive, but if you want to get one of these precious dolls, you can always buy a supporting membership (even if you cannot attend) and therefore have the opportunity to acquire one of these amazing dolls.

Sarah Seiter has arranged for a very limited number of Spark the Wyvren dolls in colored resin! The colors available are blue (pictured here), green, or purple. A white option is also available for those who can't decide, or want to blush the little guy a different color.
After you register for the convention, you can pre-order your doll from Sarah on her Etsy site here:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/109252849/convention-exclusive-spark-the-wyvern?ref=v1_other_1

For those who have already registered and ordered your doll, we will send your pre-order along to Sarah. If you haven't indicated a color preference, we will order a white doll for you. If you have any questions, please contact Tricia, the Guest Coordinator and Assistant to the Chairman:

Convention doll announced!

We are pleased to announce that the Mushroom Peddlar will be offering a limited edition dragon doll just for our convention!

Check back soon for pricing and special offers, not to mention announcements of our soon-to-start KickStarter!

Picture
We had considered making a theme for the convention, but didn't want to restrict anyone in how they wanted to play.

However, we really do like dragons. And our convention doll will be a dragon. And it is the year of the dragon, and thought we should have some sort of decorating theme for the banquet, which is planned to be the major event of the convention. Therefore, we will be decorating the Banquet in a dragon theme.

If you would like to play with the dragon theme for the convention, great! If it's not your thing, you're happily welcome to theme or not theme however you like!

On an additional note, we got some really amazing shots during our photoshoot! Lots of local doll collectors are also contributing photos of around St. Louis to share. If you would like to contribute, please email promotions@stlbjdcon.com and we'll post your pics!
